At the southwestern tip of Messenia on the Peloponnese, nestled between Koroni and Methoni, lies the small village of Finikounda in a beautiful bay with offshore islands, surrounded by fine sandy beaches. Until 1930, the village was called Taverna, as only a single tavern and a few fishermen's huts existed on the beach. Thanks to its long sandy bay and excellent location, Finikounda has developed into a popular holiday destination. Here, right by the sea, you will find numerous taverns, charming cafés, cozy shops, and a well-designed pedestrian zone. It is an excellent starting point for excursions to Pylos, Methoni, Koroni, or to various sights such as Ancient Messini or the Palace of Nestor.
Above Finikounda, with breathtaking views of the sea, the village, and the stunning surrounding mountain ridges of southern Messenia, lies Finca Morea with a private pool.
About 6.5 km outside Finikounda, above the village of Akritochori, is Villa Sapientza with a private pool and fantastic sea views.
Approximately 2 km above Finikounda Bay and the picturesque village of the same name lies the small village of Lachanda. Just outside it stands Villa Emilios with a private pool and spectacular sea views.
